5 Steps in Changing Your Mindset from Scarcity to Abundance

Change_Your_Mindset1
Got home with a sad heart. Bleeding with grief, lack of faith and uncertain future. “Something must be done!” I changed my clothes, ate and retired in the bed on the floor. Beside me was my housemate. I looked at her face and asked myself, “Does she know why she’s here?”
I laid my back flat on the semi-hard bed and looked blankly at the wooden, torned ceiling.
“Something must be done.”
These were my thoughts during the time I had my first career crisis. I was asking myself, “Why am I doing what I am doing today? Am I made for this? Is this really what I want?”

Everything starts from small beginnings. If it’s good and you take care of it. It will grow abundantly.
Then an idea sprung from my head. I need to know how people become happy, wealthy and contented. That begun my search for the next level of my life.
According to my research and observation, all successful people have one thing in common – MINDSET. From Scarcity to Abundant Mindset. After searching for answers through books, mentors and personal experiences, I summarized these into 5 major steps:
1. THOUGHTS. What I first changed were my thoughts about myself and my beliefs. Before, I used to think that being wealthy is evil. I saw that in telenovelas. A rich girl pulling the hair of a poor girl. I thought it’s always like that and so, I embraced poverty knowing that God will always be in favor of me. They say that it’s in the bible. Now, I realized that it’s poverty in spirit. God will do ways in reaching out to you if you have a low spirit. Rich people can have poverty in spirit, too. And God will make ways through other people to reach out to everyone.
What will you do to change your thoughts? Have your dream board – cut out of pictures that you want to achieve in life, also have a notebook where you will write down all your dreams in present tense. Try it!
2. INFLUENCE. Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are. List down 5 names of people you are always with and then look at your mindset or even your income. Most of the time, what they earn, on average you also earn. I did not mean to leave your friends. I suggest that you hang out with people who you think can help you bring out the best in you or can influence you in advancing your mindset from scarcity to abundance.
What will you do to be with the right people? Deliberately look within your circle for people who have the same goal of advancing their mindset.
3. LEARNING. If you want to learn from successful people the best way and the easiest way is to buy their books or read their blogs or watch their videos. There are a lot of free stuffs online that can teach you without spending anything. In the beginning, you may opt to search for free materials on the internet but if you have money to spare why not buy a book? One book can be two starbucks frappe only. As the late Jim Rohn had said, “If you think education is expensive try ignorance.”
How will you fast track your learning? Actually, I just put “fast-track” there. Because people would normally look for the quick way, the rich quick schemes in learning. I’m sorry but there will never be one book or one mentor that will bring you to where you want to be. It’s always a process. It’s always a concoction of a lot of things in your life. What I will suggest is at least read new books every month as a start. You may also attend seminars on how to be successful. There’s a lot of stuff in youtube that you can watch. They also say that joining a network marketing company can also relatively make your shift from scarcity to abundance faster.
4. PRACTICE. It’s nonsense if you will not apply all these acquired knowledge and experiences. Forget about the word CAN’T. Always say to yourself that you CAN! During your first tries, for sure it will be hard. It is always the first steps that is hard. Then do it one step at a time. Just don’t talk yourself out of the goal. Most of the time we are greatest critique of ourselves. If you’ve achieved a goal learn to tap yourself at the back. Celebrate! Don’t be too hard on yourself.
What will keep you moving? First step, action. Second step, action. Third step, action. You don’t need to see the whole staircase, just take the first step in faith. – Martin Luther King
5. OWNERSHIP. Take ownership of your results. Stop blaming the government, your work or even your parents. It’s your life. God gave you free will. Thus, giving you the freedom of choice. Once you start taking responsibility of your results, abundance will flow and will follow.
How to take ownership? If there’s a thought that you are blaming, justifying and complaining, consciously stop yourself from doing that. Eventually, you will see yourself thinking of ways to resolve your challenges rather than pointing fingers to other people. Remember, if you point a finger to a person, three fingers will points back at you. Take charge!
Eventually, you will achieve success!
There! Whew! Finally, I finished another blog! Yey! I made time for this so I can extend help to those who are seeking success in life. Success is not based on financial aspect only. Success for me may not be a success for you. We have different purposes in life. What I wrote above can also be applied in your spiritual, relational, mental and physical goals. Don’t be boxed by a dogma. Explore! Be the best in whatever you do. For sure, God will bless you tremendously if your goal is for the Highest Good of everyone.

Bakit madulas dito? ”

at ako’y biglang napaluhod.

Nang makuha ko na yung larg size GRANDSLAM pizza, naexcite na akong umuwi kase that pizza will be my dinner too (diet kunwari hehe)..

God knows what your heart desires and as long as you know your priority He will answer all your prayers in time. In His time all things are possible. Ecclesiastes 3:3

My Faith In Humanity Was Instantly Restored After Hearing What This Boy Did For His Friend. Kids Can Be Amazing.

Quinn Callander and Brayden Grozdanich, two Canadian 7 year-olds, are best friends. Since kindergartenthey have been inseperable. Their friendship alone would be enough to be inspiring, but what happened between them recently may just bring you to tears. It’s THAT good.

3 Start-Up Ways To Increase Your Cashflow

Source: traceyfieber.com
When I was younger, “I was asking myself why am I in this family?” We were poor and I saw in television that there are differences between the poor and the rich. I used to daydream about having my own car, own house and eating the food that I want. As a young kid, God impressed on my heart that it can be done.
But how? I thought at first it was education – now, I knew it depends on the opportunity that you will be working on. Then, I thought it was hard work – now, I knew that it’s a combination of hard work and smart work. Lastly, and one of the most common is destiny – now, I knew that God gave us free will and whatever we have in our thoughts will become words, words become actions, actions become habits, habits become character and character becomes destiny.
OK. After learning all these, I resolve that it can be done!!! And wullah, I did it! There is just one big problem! I was earning money but I was losing money at the same time! OMG! I haven’t thought about that. I just want to earn, earn, earn. After some time, I realized that I had a leaky bucket!
I reviewed my notes and I forgot about CASHFLOW! BTW, what is CASHFLOW?
Definition of terms: Cashflow -  the movement of money into or out of a business, project, or financial product. It is usually measured during a specified, limited period of time. Oh, there! It’s the amount of money that is coming in and going out of my pocket. Just like you, when I was working, my expenses were greater than my salary! Why is that? One, it’s because of lack of prioritization, I just spent, spent and spent my money mindlessly.
Two, I’ve got no plan on where I will put my money. Third, I thought it will continually grow, but as I get old, my salary grows and my expenses grow as well! To check and balance, I begun reviewing the notes of financially successful people. These people are very careful about their cashflow. I took note of some. I noticed that there are a lot of ways to increase your cashflow but I’ll be giving you only three ideas which are based on what I practice. As a start, I know this can help you.

Here are 3 start-up ways to increase your cashflow:

1. Keep Track of Your Expenses. You can keep a daily, weekly or monthly list of expenses. You may start setting a budget on how much you will just spend on a weekly basis. Keep an excel file of all your expenses and check how much remains after you’ve paid everything. Your goal is to have positive cashflow. That positive cashflow can be invested in stocks, mutual funds, insurance, etc. You may also start building your peace of mind fund which can be 3 to 6 months of your monthly expenses. I prefer not to write everything because it makes me crazy. If you can do that, please do. For me, I prefer to have a threshold in my expenses. Don’t worry if you forget it’s okay. It takes time for it to become a habit. Right now, I still do forget. :)
Have a tracking system for your expenses.
2. Add a Lifestyle that You are Comfortable Maintaining and Spending. As I’ve said, before my goal was to live the lifestyle of my dreams! However, I realized that as the income increases so is the lifestyle. That’s a great sign that you are achieving financial success and it is best to be vigilant in your expenses. You might be one of those who already earned 10 Million bucks and would say to self, “Oh! What happened to my money?” I bet you don’t want that. You can increase your lifestyle. A lifestyle that is comfortable to you and which you can maintain and a point that you don’t feel deprived. Don’t skyrocket your expenses just because you want to keep up with the Joneses’. Remember, it’s not what you earn, it’s what you do to what you earn. :) It’s okay to spend but don’t buy stuffs just to impress people around you. If you will buy doodads, make sure that it has a return. Otherwise, you just wasted your money. Of course, this will make you happy for what? Several weeks? Or days? But afterwards, what’s next? You’re not happy again and you will buy again. It is not these things that will make you whole. It’s God and God alone.
Work for a lifestyle that you will enjoy.
3. Do Something On The Side (For Employees). If you’re an employee and you want to increase your cashflow, why not do something on the side? In US, people would have two jobs just to maintain their lifestyle. If you are residing in the Philippines, have a business/part-time job/sideline during your free time. And, maintain your lifestyle or make it a little bit more comfortable. It will create a tremendous impact in your finances, just make sure that you still have time for your family. Although, sometimes, you still have to sacrifice your time with them. It’s normal, because you are building a future. If there came a time that what you earn outside matches what you earn in your job, then you may opt to do it full time and make it bigger. To some, it took them years, others took months. It depends on your current state and on the amount of lifestyle that you want to achieve. While you are doing your side business make sure that you still serve your purpose in your job. Be an INTRA-preneur. Work as if you are working for your business. Be the best in your job, your side business and other aspects of your life. Don’t burn bridges! In the future, you will use these connections.
Do a side business that will add cashflow to your finances and something that you enjoy.
Search the internet, talk to people, read books, etc – you will definitely find lots of ways to increase your cashflow. What I taught are just simple ways. These are simple steps to do but if you will follow them after reading this, it will give a tremendous impact in your finances. Sometimes, I do forget doing what I taught you above and we all are working for our progress. The best way is to make it a habit by consciously reminding yourself about your goals. Let’s grow together in our journey to financial literacy. If you learned from this blog post, you just pay it forward. Teach these 3 basic steps to at least 5 of your friends. Then they will teach it to 5 of their friends also. And maybe the reason you got here is because God wants you to start working on your finances. In the beginning it will be hard but in due time this will be a habit for you and the people surrounding you. If you want to know how to change your mindset from scarcity to abundance,
Thank you for reading!

How an SM sales lady became a Millionaire Missionary

I was born in Balut, Tondo, in a squatter’s area where it was normal to have drug addicts for neighbors and it was not unusual to witness a person running after someone with a knife on hand.
We were very poor. My mother was a teacher in a public school while my father was an electrician and we were often short on money. My mother would resort to borrowing money from our uncle who was a janitor. When we would have nothing to eat, we would share a pack of Sky flakes among ourselves or buy Chosen chichiria(junk food) to partner with rice. Even as a young child, my siblings and I learned to fetch water and carried heavy pails since we had no water inside our house.
When I was in Grade 2 at Paez Elementary School, a Japanese sponsor under My Share International Scholarship program chose me as a scholar. Early on, I learned to treasure my education because it was the only thing that I had for my own.
When I was in Grade 5, we transferred to a much better area in Tondo, sharing a house with two other families. When they left the house because of a misunderstanding among themselves, we were left alone and we could no longer pay the rent. My parents decided to go live with my maternal grandmother in Caloocan. But she did not approve of my father’s attitude and behavior, since he was already old but still had no regular income and depended on my mother for raising the family. We lived with our lola while our father separated from us. He got so jealous of my mother’s friendship with a lesbian that he attacked and killed her in school.
Because of this, my family left Caloocan with my father and went to Pampanga. I stayed with my grandmother because I did not want to forfeit my scholarship, I was already in high school then. Eventually, my father was arrested and he is serving life sentence in prison. During this time, I immersed myself in my studies so that I could forget the struggles we were going through. I would only see my mother and siblings during summer break or Christmas, depending on whether they had money for bus fare to go to Manila.
With my scholarship, I focused on my studies and studied hard at Torres High School and graduated salutatorian. During our rehearsals, I cried because I saw that my other classmates had their parents with them while I had none. Knowing my plight, my teachers and classmates raised funds for me so that my mother could come to my graduation.  In the absence of my father, I would turn to God and say, “Buti na lang nandyan ka.” (It’s good that You are here.)
I was now about to go to College and I was worried if I could continue my education since my scholarship had now ended. But I did not want to stop; I knew that my education was our way out of poverty. I couldn’t take the entrance exams in other schools because they were expensive. I did not even have P500, so I took the entrance exams that were for free. I also looked for and applied for scholarships in schools and other organizations until I discovered SM Foundation. I applied for their scholarship and was glad to know that their scholarship covered tuition and miscellaneous fees. I was also going to receive a stipend of P2,000 per month for 8 months of the year for my allowance.
My course Computer Engineering at FEU East Asia lasted for 10 and a half months each year and I needed to save for the months that was not going to be covered by my stipend. So during Christmas and summer breaks, when my classmates would go on vacation, I would work at SM  as a sales lady for six days a week, earning P300 a day, which I would save for the coming term.
I would stand for eight hours every day. We were not allowed to lean or sit when we are at work. I took on a positive attitude and often motivated myself, “Kaya ko to” (I can do this).
I was grateful that I did not have to worry about tuition fee and I served customers gladly. It was more of a challenge when there were no customers as the minutes felt longer when one had to wait. Sometimes, I would be envious of the parents who would buy presents for their children during the Christmas season. Still, I would continue to serve with a smile.  Throughout those months of serving at SM, I only had one uniform that I invested in and would use as a saleslady. I would wash it every night so I could use it again the next day. The hard work and perseverance taught me to value the money I earned. I would reward myself with a Triple Choco Boom that cost P20, and would save the rest.
I remember being culture shocked when I got to College, seeing my rich classmates drink expensive coffee, which I in my mind I would compute as already worth one-week of my food. When we would gather together, I would just look at what was being served and not eat. I was okay with eating outside where food cost P20, which I would joke as “mura na marumi pa” (cheap and dirty), or partake of the buy- one-take-one burger joint.
During that time, I would only have lunch for 15 minutes and spend most of my time in the library, studying, reading and doing advanced work. I would also augment my allowance by volunteering to photocopy materials for my classmates where I would charge a few centavos for service rendered. I would earn P20, which was good enough for my transportation.
I felt that I had to give my best because my education was the only treasure I had in my life. I did not want to lose my scholarship and so I studied hard. Even when I was elected and served as Student Council President, I still focused on my academics as my first priority.  When I come home from school, I would do advanced reading and work on my assignments.
In 2008, I graduated from college with Magna cum Laude honors.
After two months, in July, I got accepted to my first job at Chevron. It was one of the happiest days of my life. When I saw the contract, I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. It was much more than what was expected by a fresh graduate to receive. All my hard work, sacrifices and efforts flashed back into my mind and the returns were big.  I immediately called my mother in Pampanga and told her, “Nanay, mayaman na tayo.” (Mother, we are now rich.)
But God had something more in store for me. Two years into my new work, I was feeling restless. I was earning a lot but I wasn’t fulfilled, something was missing. During this time, a colleague of mine invited me to a career talk in our company, which turned out to be Bo Sanchez’s seminar on financial literacy.
I was struck by what Bro. Bo said about the wrong theology about money. At the time, I was still embracing a poverty mindset. Even though I had big dreams, my poverty mindset was stopping me. I still had feelings like I did not deserve it and it was as far as I could go. I still had insecurities and was not confident about my self.
I started joining Bro. Bo’s Truly Rich seminars and began reading his books. I invested on seminars, believing in the value of education. Bo’s Secrets of a Happy Millionaire and How to be Really, Really Happy had a great impact on me. My mind started to expand and I had a paradigm shift.
During this time, I was doing buy and sell gadgets to augment my income so I could help my family more, my siblings got married and were having babies. I took care of their hospital bills and the first needs of the baby.  I felt that I needed to earn more.
As they say, the teacher will appear when the student is ready.  My boyfriend Don and I started to become curious about The Feast and we attended the one in Valle Verde in March 2010. Bro. Bo was giving the Prosperity Series and I finished the six weeks of teaching. I realized that I did not only need to grow financially but more importantly, spiritually. Through the Feast, I grew closer to the Lord, all my insecurities were removed and I learned to forgive my father and to move forward.
I followed Bro. Bo when he transferred to the Feast PICC and I joined a Caring Group. Through the sharing, prayers and support of fellow brothers and sisters, I was healed.
I also resigned from my job and went into a direct selling company. Because I have learned hard work, patience and perseverance early on, working for the networking company was not too difficult for me. In just eight months and a half after I joined the company selling health care products and building teams, I earned my first million.
I have achieved my goals with God’s grace, bought my own car and condo unit.. I retired my mother last year and invested in her own sari-sari store that she could grow and would give her regular income. My dream is to build a house in Pampanga that she could call her own. In all her 25 years working as a public school teacher, earning P10,000, she has not experienced a better life until now. She is my inspiration and I want to thank her for all the years of sacrifice for us.
I was also able to go on many travels sponsored by my company. I was able to go on a Holy Week Pilgrimage and was able to bring along my mother to Fiji Island for free, it was her first time to ride a plane.
I am now 25 years old and looking back at my journey I am amazed that I am already here. It’s all God’s grace and miracles. I am looking forward to building a happy family with my husband, Don.  I continue to strive to be the best that I can be because there are many more people still waiting to be served.  I want to give of myself, now as a trainer. I coach people on how to manage their teams, sharing my knowledge and helping others to come out of the race and become truly rich as God has helped me.
